How Buying Nursery Plants Online Turned Me Into a Gardener

Ah, summer time and the fresh air with lovely smell of plants, things worth living for. I haven’t always been the fan of plants though… Don’t get me wrong, I’ve always admired their beauty and appreciated their existence, however I haven’t been the fan of taking care of them myself. That is, until I moved to a new home with plenty of space for a garden. I don’t mean to scare new gardeners, but my experience at its beginning wasn’t all that glorious I thought it would be as I managed to kill off more plants than I actually nurtured. As they say, Rome wasn’t built in a day, and so did my green thumb skills, so I wasn’t willing to give up.

Luckily, my gardening is proving to be successful, so there’s hope for all rookie gardeners and I’m going to share the ingredient to my success: buying nursery plants online. I know many people still prefer to see the plants beforehand and then do the shopping (I used to be one of them), but once I tried this option instead, it’s been the only one for me ever since. If there’s one thing I’ve learnt from shopping for plants it’s that what you wish to have and what you should have in your garden may not always coincide and this is where purchasing online can be of help.

All the options of nursery plants online are meticulously categorised, along with a full description of the conditions they thrive in as well as the size you can expect to see them in when fully grown, and this doesn’t save one time only but disappointment also; you can’t expect sunflowers or watermelons to survive if your soil is highly acidic. An online nursery has saved me from wasting time making my way through the busy garden centres and nurseries, the endless queueing, as well as not having the chance to check plants that interest me better because of getting lost in lines of plants (tried it before and it didn’t end well).

Doing this kind of shopping surely opened the gates for me in the world of gardening tools and books, so I might as well say they’re all part of my garden bloom success. Seeing all my efforts pay off sure is a satisfaction in itself, and it’s all just as relaxing as planting is. Do you have a plants nursery experience you’d like to share with me? I would be glad to compare my story with yours and get some advice on further bettering my skills.
