Home & Garden

Some may say that it's too expensive and too impractical to follow interior design trends with all the furniture pieces and decorative elements you need to change quite often in order to be trendy. After all, this isn't clothes we're talking about (and we all looove buying a new piece of clothes every now and then), so I can agree with the notion that it's somehow, expensive. But think of it this way: if you can't afford to change your furniture every year or so, then you most certainly can be creative and add a dose of trendiness here and there to refresh the appearance of your rooms and keep up with current trends. Just like in clothing, accessories are the key. However, if you don't have the proper base for your taste (likes and admirations in interior design), you won't be able to pull this off. Again, just like when you look to dress up trendy and fashionable, but still be you. So, lets tackle the process of becoming a trendy interior design guru who knows how to get the most of a room with few simple tricks. In the focus in this post: your living room.

Today mix-and-match dining sets are so vogue. They give a very personal imprint to the space, making it look much more inviting and modern. Shaking up the traditional matching dining chairs is a great starting point for creating a more vibrant space that will scream...

With spring already here it's the perfect time to get your outdoor space ready to welcome the new season in style and comfort. Whether that be a fun barbecue with your friends, breakfast with your family or just enjoying with a nice cup of coffee...

Serving PlateEating is an experience that engages all our senses. Whether we like certain food or not, depends on its smell, taste, texture, and of course, its appearance. To truly enjoy a meal, all those sensations need to work together in harmony. Try holding your nose while eating and you can barely taste the food. Very similar, the way the food looks is what tempts us to taste it. Eating your favourite food out of a bucket is not the same as eating it carefully arranged on a serving plate. The ingredients are the same, but the experience is much more enjoyable when the food looks good.
Antique Chinese FurnitureSome like it chic, some choose antique. It's not that antique is not chic, it's just that it's much more than that. Antique pieces of décor and furniture, especially those inspired by the rich Chinese culture, are in fact story tellers of bygone eras and I howl at their beauty like a wolf in heat. Asian-inspired interior might not be everyone's cup of tea, but this type of design has certainly nested in the homes of many Australian old souls. As of late, I am drawn to thinking that if I were to have it my way, antique would have been the norm that’s taking the design world by storm and this is how it all started.

Have you ever noticed how rarely families nowadays spend time together? Have you ever stopped to think about the fact that parents and children are drifting apart because of their everyday responsibilities, missing out on each other's life? Yes, it is a rather sad and...

A home is the reflection of every owner's personality and the way we arrange the interior can speak volumes about us, based on the furnishing style chosen, the decorative items, as well as the ways they are arranged and organised. The same goes for the...

You have seen them in movies, in music videos, at your friend's place, in public buildings, and you probably have them in your office. I am talking about the classic and currently one of the most popular types of window treatments – the Venetian blinds....
