Prep Your Outdoors for Lots of Sunrays and Fun
Noone wants to be closed within 4 walls during hot summer days, even with a powerful air-conditioning system, you’d still feel the need to get out, breathe fresh air in and enjoy the cuddling sun rays. And while the park is a great idea, (not to talk about the beach, but not everyone lives near a beach and summer lasts only three months) it would be a lot better if you could be able to sit close to your kitchen so you know, the cocktails can come fast and easy. That’s right, pay close attention to how the outdoor area of your home looks like: are there enough good, summer-vibe designed outside table and chairs sets installed? If not, get ready to do some work because this spring you should be enjoying your hot days soaking up the sun with a cocktail in your hand in the comfort of your yard (or balcony for that matter).
Clean it all up
Winds and rains and other not-so-pleasant-to-go-through weather conditions will leave your backyard in a rather dirty situation. There will be a lot of dust, sand, autumn leaves and other kinds of trash that you’ll need to get rid of before you start designing your summer-chilling outdoor area.
If you have a grassy surface, trim the grass and make it look nice. Also, refresh the decorative plants and flowers that you’ve planted; make the overall outdoor ambiance look appealing.
His majesty: the seating set
Whether you choose lounge chairs, sunbeds, or a nice and multi-purposed outside table and chairs set, make sure it’s very, very comfortable. You need something that will be inviting enough so that people could sit on it, take the cocktail in their hands and drift away losing track of time. Wicker is a great option for this purpose since it allows the use of seating cushions and it’s generally a cosy and soft material.
Decorations
We’re aiming for a real summer scene here, so, nurture a small flower row around the grass surface, and add a tree or two to provide shade. Make sure you have the space for a small fancy table that will complement the seating set and will serve to place the cocktails on it. You know, a classy serving manner like those in highly sophisticated restaurants. Also, don’t forget the scented candles and hanging candelabras to create an ambiance at night and of course: the music! Chillax sounds to go with the sun, the cocktails and the hot weather.
Finally, invite your friends in your small summer oasis. Get in your bathing suits and you’re so up for a small party. Or, if you’re in for some ‘me’ time in the comfort of your own home, this would be the perfect place for it.
