LED Stair Lights: Light Up Your Step

LED Stair Lights: Light Up Your Step

We often discuss focal points whenever it comes to home décor, but rarely do we consider the bigger picture – the home as a whole. Sure, the sofa is a key element in the living room, the dining table in the dining room, the bed in the bedroom, but what about the grand entrance, the hallway? Unless you’ve opted for an intricate chandelier, the answer still lies in lighting fixtures but those that aren’t that grandiose yet can still be a “wow” factor; it’s those that enhance the functionality of the staircase as the focal point of the home.

Making our way up and down the house isn’t all that easy when it’s done in the middle of the night, as we try to walk stealthily so as not to wake anyone or miss the step and end up breaking a bone which is where lights prove their functionality. You may opt for certain wall lights, but LED stair lights don’t give you the glare wall lights do and they amp up the décor of your home, though you’d find a variety of hues, from relaxing to bright and colourful. Why LEDs you wonder? Well, they are the most eco-friendly, cost-effective and durable option there is. Other than that, they’re also stylish.

Due to the wide range of LED stair lights options, varying in sizes, shapes and colours, there are so many ways you can light up your step; it’s all up to you to decide. It’s important to remember, however, if you want successful outcome, a harmonious look that’s achieved thanks to stair lights that make the space look well-put together, you have to take your interior décor in consideration. Once you’ve made up your mind, it’s time for another decision to make: Where to install the stair lights.

If you want a runway look, install tread lights on the steps. If you think there’s sufficient lighting, you don’t have to install them on every step but rather every second. For a magical effect, particularly with floating stairs, you should consider installing lights under the staircase. You can get nice illumination if you integrate it in the middle of the steps, the central area, with riser lighting. A bolder aesthetic look can be accomplished when installing linear step fixtures across the bottom of the steps. So many ideas, so many stair lighting fixtures to choose from – it’s important that you always go for something that really catches your eye and further defines the interior décor.
